Sunday Worship

Come as you are.  Jesus knows you already.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL ST. LAWRENCE'S SERVICES ARE BEING HELD IN THE CHURCH HALL UNTIL MAY 1ST 2010

8:00am Holy Communion, St Lawrence’s

traditional language, no music - quiet, simple, and reflective.

9:30am Parish Eucharist, St. Lawrence’s

often full of children, babies, teens, mums & dads, and St. Lawrence stalwarts, with cheerful singing of well known hymns, traditional liturgy with an informal atmosphere.

The service usually finishes about 10:45am, followed by refreshments (and often birthday cake!).

11:00am Morning Service, St. Hilda's

usually centred around the Eucharist (Holy Communion) with the children's Sunday Club meeting upstairs in the Upper Room to explore the faith together.

Once each month (usually the second Sunday) there is no Eucharist, but a service called 2gether 2worship, bringing together all age groups for a shorter, less formal service.

6:00pm Evening Prayer, St. Hilda’s

focused around the order of Evensong found in the 1662 Book of Common Prayer.

There are hymns, sung and spoken prayers and readings from the scriptures, and a sermon. There are about ten of us who love to sing the traditional service together, and would love for you to join in with us.

Shared Worship (4th Sunday of the month in the evening)
We join in a shared service with other local Christians once a month. This enables us to share in a variety of worship styles. There is usually a break from these services during July and August. The venue changes each month, so it is announced in church and displayed on the notice boards at the entrances to the hall and the church.

6:00pm Evening Prayer, St. Lawrence’s

Also 1662 BCP sung evensong: gentle, reflective, traditional, calm.

8pm Night Prayer, St. Lawrence's

Cafe style church in the church hall.  Mellow music, small group discussion, home baked goodies, hot drinks, etc., ending with prayer.

We usually reconvene in the pub after worship!
