The Night Prayer service nearly always meets in the church hall on Lawrence Street.  It is a cafe style service, beginning with a time of fellowship (we have a number of skilled bakers in the church who take turns to provide a wonderful array of home-baked goodies), and worship songs.  We then have a time of discussion, and have some teaching on a particular topic concerning faith, the Bible, or ethics, before standing before the cross to close with ten minutes or so of formal prayer.  The service attracts many students, mostly from the University of York and York St. John University.  During term time, we normally get 15-25 people; outside term time we will probably get 5-10 people.  The service is mellow, serious, thoughtful and fun!

After the service several of us go over the road to the wonderful Waggon & Horses pub!
