Parish priest - the Revd Tim Jones

Curate - the Revd Maggy Ellison Maggy works part-time as a cardiac nurse at York Hospital in the coronary care unit and in A/E. She comes from a strong Methodist family - her father was a local preacher, but she changed allegiance to the C/E in her late teens. She served as a Reader in Stamford Bridge for a number of years before being ordained as a deacon in the summer of 2009.
Tim is parish priest for both St Hilda's on Tang Hall Lane and St Lawrence's on Lawrence Street. He is married to George; they have two daughters. Tim has recently been the Vicar of St. Paul's Church in Corinth, Mississippi, in the USA, returning to England in November 2007. He had previously served in the Diocese of York as parish priest for the rural parishes of Welbury, East Rounton, and West Rounton as well as serving for a time as the Bishop of Whitby’s Officer for young adults and vocations and as a prison chaplain. He is now in his forties, but isn’t coping too badly!
Curate - the Revd Mike Fairey
Mike is an ordained deacon, and is due to be ordained priest in the summer of 2010. He lives in Thorp Arch near Boston Spa, where he runs an Electronics / IT business. He is really interested in new expressions of church, and all kinds of tecchie stuff! He is married to Janet; they have an adult son, Chris.

Associate Priest - the Revd Paul Wordsworth
Paul is married to Olive (see below!), and has much experience of growing churches, having recently retired as Archbishop's Officer for Mission and Evangelism - he still travels extensively supporting and advising churches. He is also deeply involved in the Church’s work with the homeless street community in York, and campaigns on poverty issues. He plays the guitar, and used to be a rugby player.
Reader - Olive Wordsworth
Olive is the key worship leader for our 11am services, and runs the 2gether 2worship service each month. She is married to Paul (see above!). She has been a teacher, and is a regular visitor to lead worship in Derwent School. She was one of the first women licensed in 1972 as a Diocesan Reader (and one of the youngest in the UK) to train for Readership ministry when the Church of England gave women authority to preach and lead worship. Olive produces the monthly newsletter.
Lay worship leader - Ralph Tate
Ralph is our organist, and helps with preaching and leading worship. He used to be a secondary school teacher, but is now qualified and working as a counsellor and therapist - amongst many other things. He has a particular ministry with the bereaved.
Ralph's love of the Organ came from playing the Organ in his schooldays and he has played in a variety of churches across the country including Newcastle, Durham, Bournemouth and Christchurch and not least in York. Ralph is also a fellow of the Victoria College of Music and the Royal Society of Art.
Reader - Clive Jackson
Clive is a retired schoolteacher, who has been a Lay reader since 1960. He is a key worship leader at the 9:30am and 6:30pm at St. Lawrence’s, visits the sick and housebound, and conducts funerals. He can often be found at York Minster, where he serves as an official guide.
Churchwardens - Elaine Sheppeard and Jean Smith (St. Hilda’s),
Doreen Swann and Clive Jackson (St. Lawrence’s)
The churchwardens are the Bishop’s officers in the parish. They are all quite nice!
